The Chronic Inflammation Epidemic and your Hair

During one of her closed webinars Mrs. Stankevich spent a great amount of time on the subject of chronic inflammation.  She shared with us the knowledge gained at an international medical conference. Although not entirely new to me- I was aware of the link between cancer and inflammation - the chromatin shared did scare me.   Mainly because this condition is a like cancer - a silent killer which manifests itself when it is too late to prevent and you have to undergo intensive treatments and healing( whatever your choices are) to bring your body back to balance. And what scared me the most is that we ALL suffer from his condition, most of the time unknowingly. We all think it can't be me and yet it can be me , as I have discovered with my cancer . So I took notice and ordered my Omega 3 and Vit. C supplies from  the best available to me quality. And  kept on going with Belvaspata practicies to keep my nervous system in healthy state.  And when it comes to the nervous system- the exercises for the structuring of the hair come in very handy her. Not only did they start to bring difference to my hair condition, but are very pleasant to do and are beneficial for the mental health as well. They work with brain after all.

So what has the chronic inflammation to do with our Hair? A lot. Our Hair is not a separate lifeless organ put on our head for decoration. The Hair  is an organic and vital part of our interconnected body-mind system and is affected by the condition of our overall health. As Mrs. Stankveich stated it many times- Our Hair is a mirror of our health. everything that affects our overall health will affect the Hair as well. The chronic inflammation is believed to be one of the main causes for the autoimmune diseases so widely spread in our developed societies. And this will translate into your hair condition as well.

I have done some research to help me understand the epidemic and came across an interesting article on it . The link to the full article is:

The Truth About Hair and Why Indians Would Keep Their Hair Long

This information about hair has been hidden from the public since the Viet Nam War .

Our culture leads people to believe that hair style is a matter of personal preference, that hair style is a matter of fashion and/or convenience, and that how people wear their hair is simply a cosmetic issue. Back in the Vietnam war however, an entirely different picture emerged, one that has been carefully covered up and hidden from public view.

In the early nineties, Sally [name changed to protect privacy] was married to a licensed psychologist who worked at a VA Medical hospital. He worked with combat veterans with PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder. Most of them had served in Vietnam.

Sally said, "I remember clearly an evening when my husband came back to our apartment on Doctor's Circle carrying a thick official looking folder in his hands. Inside were hundreds of pages of certain studies commissioned by the government. He was in shock from the contents. What he read in those documents completely changed his life. From that moment on my conservative middle of the road husband grew his hair and beard and never cut them again. What is more, the VA Medical center let him do it, and other very conservative men in the staff followed his example.

As I read the documents, I learned why. It seems that during the Vietnam War special forces in the war department had sent undercover experts to comb American Indian Reservations looking for talented scouts, for tough young men trained to move stealthily through rough terrain. They were especially looking for men with outstanding, almost supernatural, tracking abilities. Before being approached, these carefully selected men were extensively documented as experts in tracking and survival.

With the usual enticements, the well proven smooth phrases used to enroll new recruits, some of these Indian trackers were then enlisted. Once enlisted, an amazing thing happened. Whatever talents and skills they had possessed on the reservation seemed to mysteriously disappear, as recruit after recruit failed to perform as expected in the field.

Serious causalities and failures of performance led the government to contract expensive testing of these recruits, and this is what was found.

When questioned about their failure to perform as expected, the older recruits replied consistently that when they received their required military haircuts, they could no longer 'sense' the enemy, they could no longer access a 'sixth sense', their 'intuition' no longer was reliable, they couldn't 'read' subtle signs as well or access subtle extrasensory information.

So the testing institute recruited more Indian trackers, let them keep their long hair, and tested them in multiple areas. Then they would pair two men together who had received the same scores on all the tests. They would let one man in the pair keep his hair long, and gave the other man a military haircut. Then the two men retook the tests.

Time after time the man with long hair kept making high scores. Time after time, the man with the short hair failed the tests in which he had previously scored high scores.

Here is a Typical Test:

The recruit is sleeping out in the woods. An armed 'enemy' approaches the sleeping man. The long haired man is awakened out of his sleep by a strong sense of danger and gets away long before the enemy is close, long before any sounds from the approaching enemy are audible.

In another version of this test the long haired man senses an approach and somehow intuits that the enemy will perform a physical attack. He follows his 'sixth sense' and stays still, pretending to be sleeping, but quickly grabs the attacker and 'kills' him as the attacker reaches down to strangle him.

This same man, after having passed these and other tests, then received a military haircut and consistently failed these tests, and many other tests that he had previously passed.

So the document recommended that all Indian trackers be exempt from military haircuts. In fact, it required that trackers keep their hair long."

Comment:

The mammalian body has evolved over millions of years. Survival skills of human and animal at times seem almost supernatural. Science is constantly coming up with more discoveries about the amazing abilities of man and animal to survive. Each part of the body has highly sensitive work to perform for the survival and well being of the body as a whole. The body has a reason for every part of itself.

Hair is an extension of the nervous system, it can be correctly seen as exteriorized nerves, a type of highly evolved 'feelers' or 'antennae' that transmit vast amounts of important information to the brain stem, the limbic system, and the neocortex

Not only does hair in people, including facial hair in men, provide an information highway reaching the brain, hair also emits energy, the electromagnetic energy emitted by the brain into the outer environment. This has been seen in Kirlian photography when a person is photographed with long hair and then rephotographed after the hair is cut.

When hair is cut, receiving and sending transmissions to and from the environment are greatly hampered. This results in numbing-out .

Cutting of hair is a contributing factor to unawareness of environmental distress in local ecosystems. It is also a contributing factor to insensitivity in relationships of all kinds. It contributes to sexual frustration.

Conclusion:

In searching for solutions for the distress in our world, it may be time for us to consider that many of our most basic assumptions about reality are in error. It may be that a major part of the solution is looking at us in the face each morning when we see ourselves in the mirror.

The story of Sampson and Delilah in the Bible has a lot of encoded truth to tell us. When Delilah cut Sampson's hair, the once undefeatable Sampson was defeated.

The disappearance of my grey hair

One of the most remarkable results of my detox phase in my hair  restauration  process is the diminishing of the grey hair .   I have heard that this effect is to be expected when following Mrs. Stankevich’s exercises yet I expected it to come at a far later stage to me. Hence my surprise when I discovered this effect so soon.
On the photos below( mad with my cell phone outside my house without selfie)  I have tried to show the remaining grey hair as well as the starting process of disappearance or the greyness.  The photos are made 1 month  after my last hair dye and 1,5 month on a detox programme.  Before this I would usually start to see grey hair in 3 weeks after dying my hair and the width and intensity would be much bigger than now. I would normally need to dye my hair every 3 to 4 weeks if I did not want to walk around with grey patches in my hair. I was very surprise this time that I did not need to dye my hair even after a month following the last one. My hair looked  pretty acceptable and the grayness in it was not that visible to dye it.  It also means the hair  dye stays longer  saving me money and time on this.

Before I go further here is the verdict of the science on the reasons to have grey  and wite hair ( the link is at the end)

Research to date has confirmed that (1) hair pigmentation is under genetic control, (2) to date, there is no known way to change hair color at the genetic level, and (3) inactivation of hair follicle melanocytes is likely to give most of us gray and white hair as we age.

Let see if I will prove this wrong.
Text Box: In the front line the grey hair is far less intensive than it used to be. It looks like I am starting with greying. Used to be as intensive grey as at the temples.

Mrs. Stankevich has stated many times that this effect is only possible when you create a beneficial environment for your hair and a balance in your body.  So it is a good sign altogether signalling the overall health is improving as well.

The result so far:

On the front line my hair is far less intensive gray. It looks like I am just starting to having  gray hair. used to be very intensive in color and a very wide band .

On the left temple my gray hair diminished in color intensity. The gray area is less broad  then before.

The most visible and intensive in color  gray hair is at the right temple. No surprise- this is the most vulnerable part of our body and   very active in thinking  processes,

The back of my hair still keeps the color and I do not need to rush to dye it.

Text Box: At the left temple the greyness is far less than on the right.

Text Box: At the left temple the greyness is far less than on the right.

As an overall effect in such a short time is is really amazing progress.

Curious how it all will further develop.Esepcially after reading the conslucoins of the scientific world on the grey hair as published inhttp://www.ishrs.org/articles/hair-color.htm

IMPORTANCE OF SHAMPOO

Another article from a  website endorsed by Mrs. Stankevich. There is a difference though when it comes to combing hair before washing it. Mrs. Stankevich does not recommend to comb your hair from the ends as it is disturbing  to your central nervous system. Always comb your hair starting from the roots.

Correct shampooing can make a huge difference to the look and feel of your hair. Try incorporating these steps into your daily regime to promote the optimum vitality and well-being of your hair and scalp.

SHAMPOO

DETANGLE
Before wetting your hair, gently run a wide-tooth comb through it. If your hair is tangled when you start washing, it is likely to get more knotted. Start at your ends and gradually work your way up to the root to avoid snarling and breakage ( this is in contradiction  with  what Mrs. Stankevich advises) We suggest using a ‘saw-cut’ comb in which each tooth is cut into it, making it smoother - they are available in plastic or vulcanite (hard rubber). Avoid cheap plastic combs made from a mould as these can cut into your hair. Metal combs are even worse as their edges can lacerate your hair.

PRE-SOAKING

Pre-soaking your hair is very important. If you wet your hair thoroughly, you will need less shampoo, and applying too much shampoo can cause your hair to look dull and is also a waste of product. Use warm water to wet your hair and gently draw your fingers through it.

APPLYING YOUR SHAMPOO AND LATHERING

Do not pour shampoo directly onto your hair. Instead, pour it onto the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and then smooth the shampoo over your hair. Gently rub your palms over your hair, and massage your scalp with your fingertips in a gentle kneading motion. Massage on any part of your body is relaxing and gives you a feeling of well-being - this is particularly so in scalp massage and shampooing.

Continue the massaging action for approximately 30 seconds and every so often run your fingers through your hair from front to back in order to avoid tangling. One wash is all that is needed if you wash your hair daily. It is not necessary or healthy for you to vigorously rub your scalp. This can sometimes lead you to pull out and break your hair, and can also irritate your scalp.

RINSE

A common cause of dull hair is insufficient rinsing out of shampoo. We suggest that even if you think you have rinsed enough, you should rinse again. There is no reason to finish off your rinse with cold water, unless you enjoy it. A ‘cold rinse’ does not in fact make your hair shinier; it is conditioning which does this.

DAILY SHAMPOOING

Daily shampooing might be the topic that we have the most initial debate over with our clients, so we thought it very important to dedicate a page to explaining why we recommend it, and why it is good for the health of your hair and scalp.

We understand that it isn’t realistic for everyone to wash their hair daily due to lack of time and their hair texture and length – this is particularly true if you have very unruly, curly, coarse and hard-to-control hair, such as African Caribbean hair. Furthermore, if you need to straighten your hair every time you wash it, there can be negatives. Indeed, some individuals find their hair looks and behaves better after a few days of not washing. It is an individual preference, but research shows that frequent shampooing helps to maintain a healthy scalp and hair.

If daily shampooing isn’t possible, we recommend every other day, or try using a scalp toner, or dry shampoo with scalp benefits, on the days in between to help keep your scalp and hair in better condition and to discourage the overgrowth of bacteria. The most important thing is to choose the correct shampoo and conditioner for your hair texture and needs.

There are 3 common myths connected to people’s reluctance to wash their hair frequently: ‘Shampooing dries my hair’; ‘Shampooing makes my hair oily and dirtier’; ‘Frequent washing makes my hair fall out - if I washed it every day I’d have none left.’

THE SIMPLE SCIENCE OF THE BENEFITS OF FREQUENT SHAMPOOING

·         You take your hair and scalp to the same places you take your face, and it gets just as dirty. Clean hair reflects light better and so has a glossier and shinier finish.
·         A clean scalp encourages your hair to grow at its optimum rate.
·         Build-up of oils, dirt and sweat on your scalp can lead to dandruff and clogged follicles – both conditions which can affect your rate of hair growth and also your hair’s general appearance.
·         If you are already prone to dandruff and a flaky/itchy scalp, daily shampooing helps to remove the excess skin and clear up visible flakes. This is especially true if you use a shampoo specifically formulated to clear dandruff.
·         Shampooing hydrates your hair. It is in fact moisture (water), not oil, content that keeps your hair supple and elastic. ‘Natural oils’ on your scalp simply sit on top of your hair, but do not penetrate the cuticle or cortex.
·         Daily shampooing encourages the use of a daily conditioner  which will help keep your hair shiny and tangle free. Conditioning also smoothes your hairs’ cuticles, which helps to protect your cortex from damage and dryness.
·         Frequent shampooing removes unpleasant hair/scalp odour. If grease and sweat are left on your scalp for too long, bacteria starts to break them down and creates the equivalent of B.O. on your scalp.

CONDITIONING

All hair textures benefit from the correct use of a post shampoo conditioner. Conditioner is vital to healthy looking, shiny hair - it smoothes the hair cuticle aiding light reflection and allowing for that brilliant glossy appearance. This closing of the cuticle also helps to protect your hairs’ inner layer (the cortex) from damage and excess moisture evaporation, and aids in easing out tangles.

Nevertheless, conditioners often get an bad reputation because people find they weigh their hair down or make it look ‘lank’, ‘greasy’ or ‘dull’. However, this will only happen if you apply conditioner incorrectly, or use the wrong one for your hair texture.
To choose the right conditioner for you hair type, you first have to determine the texture of your individual hairs (whether they are fine, medium, coarse or Afro/Carribbean) and then take into account its length and level of chemical processing.

HOW TO APPLY CONDITIONER CORRECTLY

Pour a small quantity  of conditioner into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and smooth the conditioner over your hair, paying particular attention to the older, more weathered ends. To avoid weighing your hair down, do not rub conditioner into your scalp or to the hair near your scalp. Rinse immediately.

A well-formulated conditioner should work right away, so there is no need to leave it in in for longer than a few seconds. If you have particularly knotty hair, gently comb the conditioner through in the shower before rinsing using a wide tooth comb. Start at the ends of your hair and gradually work up.

If you find your hair loses body after conditioning, check that you are using the correct conditioner for your hair texture. Also, make sure that you are rinsing enough and aren’t applying it too close to your scalp.

Detox Phase Updates

It is almost 1 month I in a detox phase of my  journey no healthy glossy hair.
Here are my feelings and results up till now.
I stared the phase on 10th October  2016  following my first private consultation with Mrs. Stankevich.

While waiting for the products to be delivered I started detoxing  with the receipt given to me  by using only natural ingredient everybody has in the kitchen..Started to apply it before every washing  of my hair ( I wash every other day).  Keep doing it most of the time even now I am using the detox shampoo. also added the other products I ordered. About the products- they were not cheap to buy but  I see now that I can use my shampoo for more than 5 months, and the masque will do for a longer time. So it is money well invested and at the end of the day- cheaper than buying mainstream products. And the pleasure of using them and the results would not make you think twice.

At the beginning I had  a feeling my hair was thanking me for finally paying attention to it.  I felt as if my hair is getting cleaner and more light. After adding the detox shampoo the feeling continued.
Before the detox phase my hair tended to be fatty 2 days after washing. Now the opposite is true. I sometimes think my hair is too dry. It feels dry, but does not look like dry at all. When dirty it looks a bit fatty as dirty hair normally looks like.

The most amazing result came from the most unexpected place. 2 weeks into the detox I went to  style and dye my hair. Normally my dye will stay on my hair for max. 2 weeks and will star to wash-off.  I am amazed by the fact that my hair  is still dyed   at the time of this writing! And this is due to the most unexpected result of my detox phase-- my grey  hair is less grey! 9 and the grey hair is the main reason I dye my hair).

The intensity of the grey color has diminished !

It now looks like I am just starting to have grey hair. I have used the same type of hair dye as usual- Herbatint or Tints of Nature are the ones I use regularly- so it is not to be credited to the hair dye.
I was aware of the fact that a good hair-care will lead to an environment that will support the disappearing of the grey hair, turning it back to normal. It is that I have expected this result to come much later and with much more efforts from my side.

To celebrate these remarkable results I signed up for a 3 days intensive workshop with Mrs. Stankevich to learn how to work on hair- brain connection. I also purchased the course on Structuring your Hair and am  now moving slowly into it and doing the exercise as described. Again in no time I am experiencing results much quicker than I thought possible. Love this stuff!

The more I am following the journey  with  Mrs. Stankevich the more confident I become the results I have now are just the beginning.  I am now looking forward to the coming parties knowing my hair will be there for me- not only to guide me in life but to be the most beautiful decoration the nature has given to us.

Happy healthy hair to everybody!

Oils: Are They Worth the Hype for Your Hair?

This article comes  from the website of a  hair care producer endorsed by Mrs. Stankevich. I have not yet tried their products to write a review and in order to avoid unwanted advertising I leave the name of the company and their products our of this post.
The main reason to publish it is because  article  teaches  exactly what Mrs. Stankevich is teaching   when it comes to the  the use of different oils  - most are not to be put on our hair.
***************************************************************************************************
There’s a whole lot of hype about  oils  and why they’re essential to a well-curated beauty routine. But how much of it’s true, and how much is urban beauty legend? Our scientists spent a lot of time studying what different oils do (or don’t do, as is often the case) when it comes to your hair. We went straight to the lab to get the truth from the scientist .

Coconut oil: solid mistake
Cook with it. Bake with it. Use it for oil pulling. Heck, even put it on your skin. Just keep it out of your hair. “Coconut oil’s melting point is around 75 degrees,” explains Betsy. But in it’s natural state it is a waxy solid. “Hair reacts differently than skin, because our hair is naturally at room temperature.” Translation: not warm enough. Just think about that waxy, white substance solidified on your hair—no thanks.

Olive oil: unexpected makeup hack
This oil has tons of health benefits, but it’s not necessarily ideal for hair. A better hack? Use it to clean your make up brushes  —this oil does a great job at breaking up the pigments on your blush brush.

Argan oil: save it for your skin
We hate to break it to you, but lots of oils out there marketing themselves as natural argan oil are really made up of mostly silicone. But even pure argan oil isn’t ideal for hair. “Argan oil is high in essential fatty acids, which are amazing for your skin,” Betsy says. Your skin is a living organ—your hair isn’t. You need EFAs in your diet (like Omega-6 and Omega-3) and they’re great for your skin, but not so much when it comes to your hair.

The bottom line? Not all oils are created equal, and they aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution for all your culinary and cosmetic needs.

2 MAIN REASONS WE LOSE OUR HAIR

This is an extract from 2 free webinars of Mrs. Stankevich on hair loss and my contemplation on the on it and my own life experience.

There are basically 2 main reason to lose hair.

1.       The information overwhelming
We live in an era of free information exchange  and accessibility. Almost everything you need can be found by searching on Google. Or so we think.  When you start searching on hair loss you immediately realize there is little of value out there.99% of the information is either misleading an not true or is simply dangerous for your hair and health.
The  information most hidden form the public is the most important one- the main functional purpose of the hair.
We are led to believe the hair is a dead organ with the main purpose to heat our scull and make us look pretty. While keeping our head warm is one of the function of the hair it is definitely not the only one a not the main one. The Nature does not work in this way. Our hands are made not only to touch  and keep thigs but also to heal- hence the “healing touch”-, our feet not only to balance us but to keep us grounded and connected with Mother Earth- the spring of life acupuncture pint is in the middle of the feet-, our internal organs are not only biochemical centrals but also a processors of our emotions- you get the idea. Multitasking at its bestJ
So what about the hair? What is it main functional purpose and role in our life? Our hair I directly connected to our brain- it’s located closest to it  for purpose. Our hair is playing a vital role in the functioning of our brain and central nervous system.

It’s main functional role is to be an information channel for the brain.
Not understanding and underestimating this fact leads to a primitive way of looking and treating your hair.

“I am looking for a good conditioner for a cheap  price”- this type of thinking is the most common one. Everyone is on a look for cheap and good staff for one of the most important organ in our body. Would you apply this thinking  for  your kid? Or for your skin? Or for your ….?

If you are aware about the role your hair plays in your life  you would think twice as how to treat it. Treat it with respect and love and you will reap the benefits for life.

2.       Your mental and emotional state of being
As Mrs. Stankevich bluntly stated it- on an apathetic ground nothing grows.

If you lack passion and interest in your life – how can you expect your hair will grow and be healthy and beautiful? Your hair is in direct connection to your  brain – and  here is where the main problem ( and solution) is.

In his book The 5 pillars of Life dr. Simeon  Rodgers stated directly that the Western society is  a neurotic one. The main reason for this is the overuse of the left brain hemisphere – the logical one, and under use of the right brain hemisphere- the one where passion , intuition and extraordinary capacities are to be found. Paradoxically one of the greatest  achievements of the Reformation  is its greatest  curse- we falsely believe  life can be managed by logical reasoning only. The fact that every 4th citizen in The Netherlands is on antidepressants (and this is not different in the other developed countries)  says enough.  We live in a world of rapid changes- technology, way of leaving , what we do for work etc. Logical brain  hemisphere is not designed to deal with that amount of change. The only way to survive it is to use the right hemisphere and set our intuition to work to help us process  the information and lead us to the right decisions. As banal as it sounds-  the cut body-mind connection is the biggest reason for our neurotic state resulting  in health problems and hair loss.

In a brain  starved from joy, passion and creation nothing can grow.

It is no surprise  that the first  theoretical lesson from the advanced course on Structuring your hair is all about the right life style  that promotes hair growth. No shampoo, masker, vitamins or medicines will substitute for this.

During my extensive training for a Zhi Neng Qi Gong instructor I attended lots of workshops with Chinese teachers. They were all different but they consistently taught us the same – the best Qi Gong is laughing. We even danced half of a workshop as  this is the shortest cut to your reals self, free of programming and rules that dominate your life.

When I was on  lose weight experience last year I was guided by another remarkable woman – Galina Nikolaevna Grossmann. A professor in biology and a natural healer she started her course with the setting the mind set  " be happy  for the possibility to lose weight in this healthy way". Her course includes not only eating in a special way, but also dancing, listening to music and many energetic sessions designed to program your brain for losing weight and keeping it. All this with a positive undertone and  emphases on happiness .

And it worked.!
(Needless to say Mrs. Grossmaan has one of the most beautiful black  hair you can see- and she is beyond her 70ies )

Being  happy, having creative activities and be passionate about what you like will do to your hair more than anything else. And it will improve your health and help you deal with the rapidly changing world we live in!

Happy dancing with life!
